From structure to function: Health service redesign

The
University Hospital Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHBFT), Sandwell
and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust (SWBHT) and Walsall Hospitals
NHS Trust (WHT) are all undergoing major transformations over the next
few years that include the development of new hospital facilities. In
all three cases, most service pathways will need to be redesigned to
make the services offered to patients more responsive, accessible, and
sustainable in human and financial terms. This research is assessing the
nature of the drivers for these changes, and the changes themselves,
within different levels of the organisations.
