The Birmingham Clinical Research Academy has so far been successful in
securing two major research grants:
NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC)
for Birmingham and Black Country
This is a five year programme which will see collaboration with over eleven
local NHS partners to conduct applied health research to improve the
organisation and delivery of services in the region. For further information

Birmingham secures 3.75 million pounds for new Biomedical Research Centre
Birmingham is home to a new 3.75 million research centre to develop new
therapies for liver disease. As one of twelve new National Institute for
Health Research Biomedical Research Units it will be supported by a £45
