At the Birmingham Clinical Research Academy (BCRA) we will endeavor to
support you throughout the research application process by offering our
services at every stage. The services available to you during the process
include;
1. Birmingham Clinical Research Office (BCRO)
The Birmingham Clinical Research Office is a joint administrative office for
clinical research involving the University of Birmingham and University
Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHBFT). The aim is to provide a
facility to support all administrative aspects of clinical research.
2. Protocol Development Service (PDS)
The PDS will support and assist by helping with the following areas;
Notification / targeting of funding opportunities, access to
multidisciplinary partners, costing of grant applications within NHS /
University partners, contracts, governance, sponsorship, ethics advice,
reference / literature review support and electronic submission of
applications.
3. Funding opportunities
We are happy to provide details of all funding opportunities we are notified

4. Educational opportunities
The BCRA will indentify educational opportunities for researchers such as
Good Clinical Practice training, Patient and Public Involvement, Research
Methods for clinical trials, as well as providing links to educational
providers for research education.
5. Clinical engagement
The BCRA organises a variety of events relating to clinical engagement,
